Partly because I totally didn’t post yesterday and partly because I think it’s a great idea, I’ve deemed today Thankful Thursday. (Have you noticed that I love alliteration yet?) Maybe I’ll alternate each week between Worldly Wednesday and Thankful Thursday, which both sound an awful lot like features on a parenting blog. But that’s ok.
One of the things I’ve learned on my ~journey to find myself~ is that gratitude is key to happiness. I don’t like sounding like a big gushy sap, but I’m also learning to stop apologizing for who I am, so I will be as sappy as I please, thank you very much.
Things I’m thankful for today:
-California’s gloriously sunny fake winter
-In that same vein, trees that blossom in January (see image above)
-Furthermore, wearing sundresses in the dead of winter
-Having things to gloat about
-Spotify’s rotating #tbt playlist, which today includes such alt rock geniuses as Michelle Branch, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sum 41. Pure gold.
-The opportunity, despite being a full grown adult, to make animal masks in the middle of the day (it was for a photo shoot with little kids, for the record)
–Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder return tonight and I’m about to get my entire life
-Today is Friday-eve
-Things such as podcasts, puppies, and chocolate chip cookies exist, thus proving the world is a pretty decent place
Happy Thursday everyone, and follow me on Twitter (@kristanicki) for my panicked reactions to the return of Olivia Pope and Annalise Keating, supreme rulers of
my mental health prime time television.
Love and theatre,
