I love Valentine’s Day, because I’m a big girly sap. I mean, pink everything, heart-shaped anything, saccharine all around? Come on. I’ve only spent one with an SO, in high school, and I made him a dozen strawberry cupcakes. He got me a bag of pink and white peanut M&Ms and a single rose. That was cool or whatever but the other 22 years of my life have also been a celebration of love. Love of chocolate, of my family, of my friends, of sappy movies.

This year I am centering my ooey gooey Valentine’s feelings inward. I’m going to be my own Valentine, and will be seeing The Colored Museum, one of my favorite plays, with my little sister. There will be chocolate (duh), and I will make time to practice morning yoga. I have a lot of love to give, so why not invest a little of it in the only person I’ve spent my whole life with? As Drizzy says, “know yourself, know your worth.” As Hailee Steinfeld says, “I love me!” Below is a  link roundup to help you show a lil love.
